OPB Selects New Branch Manager

Oregon Pacific Bank has announced the replacement for retiring Florence Branch Manager Lori Gates.  In a press release yesterday, Kim Erickson, Senior Vice President and Florence Team Leader said Al Rojas would be taking the position.  Rojas most recent responsibilities were as Operations Supervisor for the bank.  He is just shy of a decade with OPB.  Rojas is also passionate about music and can often be found DJ’ing popular events around town and as sound engineer for many of the bands that play at Three Rivers Casino.  He also serves on the chamber of Commerce board of directors and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and the Florence Food share.

State of the City

Next Thursday, February 23 the city of Florence will be hosting a State of the City presentation and city services expo.  The event will be held at the Florence Events Center beginning at 5pm.  City Department booths will be set up for residents to get information on the many aspects of city services as well as getting acquainted with city staff.  At 6 pm Mayor Rob Ward will be giving the state of the city address.  The address will cover the past three years as well as what is ahead for the city.  There will be snacks and beverages available.

Florence Home and Garden Show

The 25th annual Florence Home and Garden Show is on the horizon with just two weeks before the show.  Vendors from all around the state will be presenting services and items that focus on things like home repair and remodeling, landscaping, internet, real estate, Kitchen, bath, fencing and gardening.  The two day event begins on Friday March 3rd  at noon and ends Saturday evening at 6pm.  There will be grand prize drawings, free samples and presentations by the OSU Master Gardeners.  Tickets are just $2 for adults and $1 for kids 13-18.  Participating local vendors will also have complimentary tickets available.  The Home and Garden Show is presented by KCST/KCFM and the Siuslaw News and is sponsored by OPB, Central Lincoln PUD, Three Rivers Casino/Resort and the Florence Area Chamber of Commerce.
