Vikings Fall to Cascade Christian

The Siuslaw Vikings played the number one team in the 3A division and were outgunned from the start.  A series of walks and errors got the Vikings in an early hole trailing 4-0.  Cascade Christian scored another 6 runs in the 2nd and added 3 more in the third to take a 13-0 lead.  The game followed the 10 run rule and ended in the middle of the 5th when Siuslaw failed to score.  Coach Tom Shinn said he was incredibly proud of the season the team put together and by the way senior’s Ian Sissel, Noah Dotson, and Victor Reyna-Ayala led the team.

Track and Field Championships

A group of Viking men and women will head to Hayward field today to take part in the OSAA 3A State Championsips.   The competition will take place today and tomorrow.

Beavers Let Arizona By

The Oregon State Beavers let a lead slip away from them yesterday. It was a back and forth game with multiple hits and runs from both the OSU Beavers and the Arizona Wildcats.  Tied up at 12-12 after 8 ½ innings the wildcats managed a pair of base hits to put runners on the corners. A line drive one hopper and a throw home gave the wildcats two outs and thwarted the win. But a line drive base hit scores the winning run 13-12 over the Beavers.  They take on the ASU Sundevils today at 9:30 on KCFM.

The Oregon Ducks will face Stanford this evening at 7pm
