Power has been restored in Mapleton. As of about 11:15 this morning most of the Mapleton area has power again after almost 24 hours of being without. The issue started yesterday afternoon when major damage occurred at the central Lincoln PUD sub station and a concurrent episode at the nearby Bonneville Power station causing an outage that affected about 750 customers. One resident reported hearing a large explosion before the power went out at about 1:30 on Thursday. Central Lincoln PUD officials are not sure yet what caused the outage, and are still investigating.
