The Eugene Emeralds begin a 6 game series this evening against the Hillsboro Hops in Hillsboro. The Ems are currently in 5^th place in the northwest league and are 10.5 games out of first place.  The hops are currently struggling and are 20.5 games back with a record of 31 and 53.  The Canadians are comfortably in first place 7.5 games in front of their closest rival, Seattle.
