10th inning walkoff homer powers Ems to Wednesday win

With two on and one out in the bottom of the tenth inning last night at PK Park, Aeverson Arteaga nailed a 3-run homer for a 6-3 walk off win for the Eugene Emeralds over the Spokane Indians.  Spokane had tied the game at 3-all in the top of the eighth with the Ems unable to force a resolution in the 8th and the 9th.  Eugene posted 4 hits but the defense committed two errors as the Ems improve to 47 and 45 on the season.  In the other two Northwest League games last night, Vancouver shut out Everett 7-0 and Hillsboro downed Tri-City 5-1.  The Canucks extend their lead in the second half of the season to 19-7, while Everett drops to 14 and 12, just one game ahead of third place Eugene.  The Emeralds-Indians series continues tonight in Eugene.
