Sailor Volleyball
The Mapleton Sailor Volleyball team had their first league game on Friday and their first league win. The defeated Mannahouse Academy of Eugene in straight sets 25-13, 25-8, 25-10. The team attended the C.S. Lewis Invitational on Saturday but lost all three matches.
Siuslaw Volleyball
Also on Saturday the Siuslaw Viking Volleyball team had a pair of non-league matches. The defeated Bandon in straight sets but lost to Coquille in 4.
Eugene Emeralds
The Hillsboro Hops took two of three games from the Eugene Emeralds over the weekend. On Friday the Hops won 11-3. Saturday the Ems eeked out a tough one with a 3-2 victory with a run on a wild pitch in extra innings. and then dropped the final game 7-1 to even the series. The Ems have the night off and host Tri-City on Tuesday.
