Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate junior Viking football player Maximus Reynolds as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Maximus gained 165 yards rushing with two touchdowns in Friday night’s victory against the Newport Cubs. He also had 8 tackles with three of them for loses as the Vikings held the Cubs to just 19 yards rushing on the night.
Honorable Mention goes to Viking junior Volleyball standout Rhianna Lane who had 13 kills and 9 blocks in last week’s 5 set win against Sutherlin.
Upcoming Schedule
The Mapleton Sailors Volleyball team is scheduled to travel to Siletz Valley High School this evening for a match. It will begin at 6pm.
The combined Siuslaw/Mapleton Soccer team will be at Taft this evening for a game at 6:15 pm.
Ems Drop Game One
The Eugene Emeralds dropped game one to the Everett Aqua Sox yesterday 2-1. They have the day off today and resume the series on Wednesday.
