Viking Victory

The Siuslaw Vikings eked out a win on Friday night against a very determined Harrisburg team. The Eagles took an early 7-0 lead, less than four minutes in, and it took until less than 3-minutes in the half for Siuslaw to respond,  scoring on a 7 yard Max Reynolds dive. Will Johnson ran the ball for a two-point conversion and the 8-7 lead. Harrisburg was able to retake the lead with 4-seconds left in the half with a short TD run. The teams traded possessions in the fourth quarter until the Eagles scored on a 31-yard touchdown run, converting the point-after, to make it 22-21 with 3:05 left in the game.  Siuslaw was able to control the ball and picked up a pair of first-downs to run out the clock to clinch the victory.

Ducks Dominate ‘Prime’ Time

The Oregon Ducks steamrolled the Colorado buffaloes on Saturday blanking the visitors for most of the game until Colorado scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter with most of the Oregon starters watching from the sidelines.  In a spirited pregame speech to the team Oregon head coach Dan Lanning told the team they were battling for wins, not for clicks.  The Ducks seemingly scored at will in the 42-6 win.

Beavers Lose to Cougars

The Oregon State Beavers had a tough time with the Washington State Cougars in what announcer Mike Parker called the Pac-2 matchup.  The Beavers trailed the entire game but caught fire in the fourth scoring 21 points and with just over 2 minutes left failed to convert an onside kick which left them 3 points shy of a tie.  Final score 38-35 Cougars.
