Soccer
Boys soccer will be on the road to Central Linn this afternoon for a match. The Cobras have a 6-3 record overall and are 4-1 in league play. Vikings are currently 3-2 in League play and 6-3 overall. Viking Girls will host Elmira at 4:30 on Hans Peterson Field.
Volleyball
Siuslaw volleyball was on the road at Creswell last night. the Vikings lost to the Bulldogs in Straight sets 0=3
Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio sports congratulate senior Siuslaw soccer player Derrick Vanduch as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Derrick had four saves in goal in the first half against East Linn Christian Academy and in the second half came out and scored a hat-trick in the Viking 8-1 victory.
Honorable Mention goes to Viking sophomore football player Will Johnson, despite the loss against Elmira on Friday, Will managed 90 yards on 16 carries and three touchdowns in the Viking defeat.
