Cross Country

On Friday Siuslaw senior runner Brayden Linton took seventh place in the third annual Rose City Championship invitational.  Linton posted a time of 16;16.9.  for the ladies it was Alison Hughes.  The sophomore placed 4th overall with a time of 19:34.4.  Coach Chris Johnson said he believed that both runners posted top 10 times in Siuslaw history.  For the ladies senior Courtney Holbrook finished in the top ten and junior Maya Wells finished 16th.

Viking Football

The Banks Braves overpowered the injury plagued Siuslaw Vikings 40-6 Friday night in Florence. The Braves held the Vikings to only 90 yards total offense on the night. After the loss Siuslaw dropped one spot in the rankings, from 15 to 14. Banks moved up two spots from number 4 to number 2. The Vikings travel to Sisters Friday night where they’ll take on the Outlaws.

Volleyball

On Saturday the Siuslaw Viking’s volleyball competed in a tournament in Marshfield.  They faced Churchill and were defeated 0-2.  They face Sisters next tomorrow in Sisters.

College Football

A Field goal attempt with 4 seconds left could have tied the game for the Oregon Ducks on Saturday as they faced the Washington Huskies in hostile territory.  The ball listed just right of the goal post and the Ducks suffered their first loss of the season final 36-33.  Washington remains undefeated.  The Oregon State Beavers improve to 6-1 after their home win against UCLA on Saturday 36-24.  They have the week off and face Arizona in Tucson on Saturday the 28th.

Soccer

Viking boys Soccer visit La Pine tomorrow and the Viking girls are at Santiam Christian.
