Vikings Fall to Outlaws

It was a defensive battle in Central Oregon Friday night, but the Sisters Outlaws eventually came out on top over the Siuslaw Vikings 27–20.  Neither team had stellar offensive numbers; the Viks had 139 yards on the ground, 168 in the air for 307 yards total.  The Outlaws rushed for 232 yards and only added 89 in the air for 321. Max Reynolds had 18 carries for 58 yards and one touchdown.  Will Johnson had 9 carries for 72 yards and one TD, adding 6 catches for 105 yds and another touchdown. The Outlaws clinched the out-right conference title with the win. The Vikings have now lost three straight and must prevail over Pleasant Hill at home this Friday in order to make the post season.

Soccer Play-In

Siuslaw Viking boy’s soccer will host Central Linn tomorrow at 6 pm for the chance to advance in the 3a playoffs.  The post season match pits two opponents that previously played to a 3-3 tie.  The Vikings have posted 3 straight wins since the last time the team met. Central Linn is 1-3 over the same period.  The game will be at 6pm. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 dollars for students.

Ducks Over Cougars

The Oregon Ducks passed for 293 yards and ran for 248 in Saturday’s 38-24 victory over the Washington State Cougars keeping the Duck’s hopes alive for a spot in the National Championship race.  Bucky Irving had more than half of the total rushing yard accumulating 129 yards on 15 carries. Nix was 18 for 25 with 2 touchdowns.
