Rivalry Game

Friday was the final Rivalry Game for the Oregon Ducks and the Oregon State Beavers on the grid iron.  Autzen stadium was standing room only for the game that saw the Oregon Ducks cement their bid for the Pac-12 Championship game on Friday. The Ducks outscored their interstate rivals 31-7.  The Ducks will face the undefeated Washington Huskies for the Pac-12 title with a pregame on KCST beginning at 3:30 Friday afternoon.

Smith Gone as Beavers Head Football Coach

The dismantling of the Pac-12 had other consequences as Beaver Nation learned of the hiring of their head football coach and beaver alum Jonathan Smith by the Michigan State Spartans.  The rumors were confirmed on Saturday when the announcement was made.  Smith will not be on hand for a Beaver Bowl game. Beaver Wide Receiver coach Kefense Hynson will assume interim head coach duties.

College Basketball

The Beaver Basketball team lost both games in the NIT Season Tip-off. After losing to Baylor on Wednesday they faced Pitt on Friday losing 76-51.

The Oregon Ducks also lost their final two games of the Emerald Coast Classic, losing to Santa Clara on Friday 88-82 and then falling to Alabama on Saturday 99-91.

Viking Basketball

The Siuslaw Viking Basketball season will begin this Wednesday in North Bend the boys will be up first at 5:30 with a 5:15 pre-game on KCST.
