Viking Basketball
The Marshfield Pirates came in to the Viking house last night and held the Vikings to 47 points in a tough defensive game. The pirates racked up their 4th win in a row. The Vikings led for a short period, but the Pirates eventually began to pull away late in the third quarter. Andrew Jensen Norman led the Vikings with 16 in the loss. Final score 58-47.
The Lady Vikings were also on the court last night they faced Bandon losing 30-23.
Mapleton Sailors
The Mapleton Sailors hit the court this evening to face Central Christian at home. The girls will be up first beginning at 4:30.
Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Andrew Jensen Norman as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Last week Jensen Norman led the Vikings in scoring compiling a pair of double doubles with 24 points and 13 rebounds in their win over Toledo and 25 points and 14 rebounds in the Viking narrow loss against North Valley.
Honorable mention goes to Macali Lade who won her second wrestling event in a row topping the 115 pound weight class.
