Mapleton Basketball Improves to 8-2

Mapleton Sailor Boys basketball improved to 8-2 on the season after defeating New Hope Christian Academy in Grants Pass last night. Senior Dom Wells scored a career high 17 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Junior Alex Burnett scored 12 and senior Tristan Stewart added 10 in the 54-33 victory.

The Mapleton girls fall to 4-6 after a tough loss to New Hope 49-17.

College Hoops

The Oregon Ducks are perfect at home with an 84-70 win over Kent State last night.  Jermaine Couisnard had 27 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Ducks to Victory.  The OSU Beavers also posted a victory against Idaho State winning 76 – 57.  Jordan Pope led the Beavers with 25 points.

The OSU women were on the court against Oklahoma State bringing home the victory 70-63.

Viking Wrestling

Yesterday’s Crab Pools on the Coast saw a plethora of undefeated contests by Siuslaw Viking Wrestlers.  Dayne Muller, Jacob Mann, Jane Lacouture, Macali Lade, Danin Lacouture, Abigail Riggs and Leo Robertson all were undefeated on the varsity squad and on the JV Charles Nelson and Gage  Mills were undefeated.
