Viking Basketball
The Siuslaw Viking boy’s basketball team improved to 7-4 on the season in a squeaker last night in Bandon. The Vikings faced Gold Beach at the Bandon Dunes Invitational and came away with a one point victory 51-50. They move on to the final round today against Bandon, gametime 7:30
The Viking Girls fall to 0-11 but put up 20 points against Reedsport yesterday falling 33-20. They will also compete today in the consolation round of the Bandon Dunes Tournament.
College Hoops
The Oregon Ducks had a pair of freshmen that stepped up last night to topple the USC Trojans Kwame Evans Jr. had 22 for the Ducks and Jackson Shelstad added 21 in the 82-74 victory. Senior Kario Oquendo added 15 off the bench. The Ducks remain undefeated at home.
The Oregon State Beavers broke the UCLA losing streak last night as the Bruins beat out the home team 69-62. It was the Beavers first home loss of the season.
The Lady Beavers were on the court last night and extended their wins to 11-0 beating Morgan State 80-51.
Fiesta Bowl
Monday is the Fiesta Bowl with the Oregon Ducks and Liberty university. Game time will be at 10 am with a pregame on KCST at 8:30 New Years Morning. The Ducks are 16.5 point favorites.
