Norman-Jensen Pitches No-Hitter

The Siuslaw Viking had their first baseball game against Sutherlin last night and came out on top with a great performance from Andrew Jensen Norman on the Mound.  Norman threw a no-hitter last night for the Vikings in the 11-0 rout.  Wayne Sharpe spoke with Coach Wells after the game about Jensen-Norman.

“That’s pretty impressive, you know after last year he came out and didn’t have the same result against Sutherlin so he needed it he’s a senior this year and I’m really happy for him, he’s gonna be our Captain out there all year long.”

Wells added they need to work on early walks but all in all was happy with the results.  The Vikings play Coquille on Friday.

Viking Softball

The Viking girl’s softball team was also playing Sutherlin the team produced some runs with 8 on the night but Sutherlin beat out the viking scoring 14. The girls will also host Coquille on Friday.

Viking Golf

The Viking Boy’s golf team were on the links yesterday and placed second out of 11 teams.  Coach Chuck Johnson says it was their best finish in the three years they have been hosting the event.  Ryan Klampe came in second overall with a 2 over par 74. Peyton Wiedemann of Thurston took first place.  The Viking Girls will hit the links today.

Beavers Eliminated from Pac-12 Tourney

The Oregon State Beavers are done in the Pac-12 Tournament.  the UCLA Bruins sent the Beavers home after one game with a 67-57 victory over the Beavers.  Today UCLA will face the Oregon Ducks at 2:30 with a 2pm pregame on KCST.
