Siuslaw Track and Field

Wesley Nicholls was the top finisher in the 200 meters at the Wally Ciochetti invitational on Friday.  Nicholls finished 4th. he place a little higher in the 400 meter race at third. Dylan Jensen and Derrick Vanduch finished 4th and 5th respectively in the 800 meters.  Brayden Linton finished 6th in the 3000.  Kale Jensen took third in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4×400 meter relay team finished 3rd.  Kale Jensen also competed in the high jump finishing 4th. Will Johnson finished 3rd in the long jump and second in the triple jump. For the ladies Maya Wells finished 4th in the 800 meters and 5th in the 1500.  In the 3000 meters Siuslaw took the 3rd, 4th , 5th and 6th spots with Alison Hughes in third followed by Macy McNeill, Addison McNeill and Abigail Jones. Jane Lacouture posted a third place finish in the shot put and a 5th place in the javelin. This Thursday and Friday will be the special district 3A championships at Sisters.

Baseball/Softball Tuesday

Tuesday looks to be mostly sunny by the afternoon in time for the Siuslaw Baseball and softball games against Pleasant Hill.  The games are home games and which field will be determined based on the condition of the fields. Times are set for 4:30 and baseball will be on the air at 4:15 on KCST.

Ducks and Beavers

The Oregon Ducks took 2 of 3 games from the Utah Utes over the weekend.  The Utes took yesterday’s game 9-7 to avoid the sweep. The Oregon State Beavers also took 2 of 3 games from the Washington Cougars. The Beavers won the rubber match yesterday 10-6 with second baseman Travis Bazzana homering 3 times in the game. Bringing his season total to 24.
