Hall of Fame: Eric Daniel
The list of Siuslaw Hall of Fame inductees continues to be released. Eric Daniel is the latest to be recognized. Daniel was a Vaulter, tossed the javelin, ran cross country and played basketball for the Vikings. In the bio submitted by Siuslaw Athletic Director Chris Johnson it recalls the 3A state track meet in 1999 where Daniel and best friend Brandon Lockman competed head to head with two other athletes with Daniel and Lockman settling the championship in a jump off after eliminating the other two competitors. While Lockman won the title it did not diminish Daniel’s accomplishments. Daniel excelled in the triple jump with a best of 40 feet 1 inch and tossed the javelin 158’8”. Daniel joins Max Perry on the list with more athletes to be released in the coming days.
Track and Field
Today begins the special district 4 track and field championships in sisters. Competition begins at 1 pm and continues on Friday at 10 am.
Viking Baseball/Softball
JV Viking softball will play today at Pleasant Hill and varsity softball and baseball will play tomorrow at pleasant Hill. Tomorrow’s games are double headers and the baseball game will be on KCST beginning at 1:45.
