District Track and Field Championships

Day one of the 3A Special District 4 Championships are completed. 9 events have been run with 4 for the boys and 5 for the girls and currently the Siuslaw Vikings are in first place.  The boys have 64 points and lead Elmira in second by 40 points.  The girls are just slightly ahead of Sisters with 46 points, 4 points in the lead.  Preliminary events show Braydon Linton in the top spot for the 3000 meters and teammates Derrick Vanduch and kale Jensen are 1 and 2 respectively in the 300 meter hurdles. Completed competitions include Maximus Reynolds in second place in the shot put.  Dylan Jensen has taken the championship in the Pole Vault at 3.98 meters. with Justin Allen in 3dr and Will Johnson in 4th. Will Johnson is champion in the long jump followed by Kale Jensen in second.

For the girls Maya Wells and Corduroy Holbrook are in 2nd and 4th place in the 800 meters.  In the 3000 Alison Hughes is currently in 2nd place with Addison and Macy McNeill in 3rd and 4th place respectively. Danin Lacouture is in 3rd place in the Discus followed by her sister Jane Lacouture in 4th.  Jane Lacouture has taken the championship in the javelin with a toss of 34.59 meters. Competition continues today in sisters.

Baseball/Softball

The Siuslaw Vikings will head to Pleasant Hill today to face the Billies.  Double header action in baseball and softball will begin at 2 pm with a baseball pregame on KCST at 1:45.

College Baseball

The Ducks and the Beavers are on the field with the Beavers hosting the UCLA Bruins this evening on KCFM beginning at 6:30.  The Ducks will be in Seattle to face the Huskies at 7pm.
