Thursday Track and Field Results

Sophomore Kale Jensen competed in the Long Jump at the State championships yesterday coming in at second place just inches behind Valley Christian’s Andrew Klopcic.  Will Johnson scored a 4th place finish. Maximus Reynolds finished 6th in the shot put with a 42.91 foot toss. Justin Allen, Dylan Jensen and Will Johnson finished 4th, 5th and 6th respectively in the Pole Vault. For the girls Jane Lacouture finished in 5th place in the Javelin with a toss of 109.28 feet. Today’s competition will focus on the running events.  Siuslaw Boys are currently in first place as a team with 28 points.  Oregon Episcopal is in second with 20.

Viking Playoff

The Siuslaw Vikings will travel to Grant’s Pass to face North Valley in the OSAA baseball playoffs on Monday.  The time of the game has not been determined. North Valley is ranked 18th and is 14-11 overall.  The 17th ranked Vikings are 11-11 overall. The winner will face the 22-5 Douglas Trojans on Wednesday.

College Baseball

The OSU Beavers are in Arizona.  They defeated the Wildcats last night 9-2 and play again today beginning at 5:30 on KCFM.  Tomorrow’s game will be joined in progress following the Coast Radio Classic Car Cruise.

The Oregon Ducks took game on from the Washington State cougars last night 9-2.  The Ducks are hosting the Cougars at PK Park.  Game 2 is this evening at 6 and the series finale is tomorrow at noon.
