Hall of Fame Inductee: Little; Duck Receive Preseason Ranking

Hall of Fame Inductee: Little

Alaura Little is another member of the 2024 Hall of Fame class for the Siuslaw High School. Little was a standout in Volleyball, Basketball and Track.  She says two of her greatest memories was that of a volleyball match against South Umpqua and a basketball game against Marist. As a senior outside hitter for the volleyball team she recalls the come from behind victory in front of a packed crowd of rowdy lancer students.  Little said the crowd taunted and heckled the Siuslaw Vikings who were down 14-9 in the 5th set and rallied to win the match. During the final set Little dove for the ball slamming her face on the floor, developing a bloody nose.  Little also set a record in track with a 10’9” pole vault placing third in the state and qualified for the 100 meter  hurdles. The Hall of fame banquet is set for August 23rd at the Florence Events Center.

Duck Receive Preseason Ranking

With an overall 2023 record of 12-2 the Oregon Ducks are getting some looks from the national media.  Early rankings have the Ducks at #3.  ESPN says one of the biggest victories for the Ducks was the decision of Coach Dan Lanning to stay at Oregon and not chase the open Alabama job.  Lanning solidified favor by recruiting.  The ducks also secured some impressive transfers like Oklahoma QB Dillon Gabriel, who according to EXPN should be a plug and play replacement for Bo Nix.
