Vikings Roll into Season with Win

Siuslaw broke an 8-8 tie, scoring twice in the fourth quarter Friday night and held on for a 22-14 win over the Marshfield Pirates at Hans Petersen Field. The Vikings had 375 yards of total offense on the night, 214 on the ground with quarterback Micah Blankenship completing 8 of 11 passes with 1 interception for 161 yards in the air. His first pass of the game, late in the first quarter went to tight end Bryce Franzoni ten yards downfield who scampered another 40-yards after the catch for a touchdown. Will Johnson found the end zone early in the fourth quarter on a one yard touchdown run with Max Reynolds following suit with 1:32 remaining with a 3-yard TD run. The Pirates scored as time expired to make the final score 22-14.

Ducks Squeak By

So far the Oregon Ducks opponents are not concerned that they have moved to the Big-10.  On Saturday Boise State led the Ducks 20-14 into half time and continued to battle into the fourth quarter leading 34-27.  The Ducks scored a touchdown and a field goal in the fourth to take back the lead and the win 37-34.

Beavers Shut Out SDSU

The Oregon State Beavers scored a touchdown in the first quarter Saturday against San Diego State and added two more scores in the 4th quarter as they shut-out their opponent. Gevani McCoy went 16 for 26 throwing for 181 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions.  The Beavers improve to 2-0 on the season.
