Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club, the Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate freshman Mapleton Basketball player Kam Wilson as this week’s Athlete of the Week for his stalworth play in the sailors victory against the Siletz Valley Warriors on Saturday. Wilson paced the sailors in the third quarter of the game scoring 7 of the 13 sailor points adding a scoring burst in the 4th quarter to help the Sailors to the 54-45 win.
Honorable Mention
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw Viking Gave DeLeon for his 14 points, 4 assists and 2 steals average in the Bandon dunes Invitational tournament over the weekend.
Viking Basketball
The Siuslaw Vikings will be in Toledo this evening for basketball action. The girls will be up first at 5:30 (OSAA) with a 5:15 pregame on KCST. The boys will follow at 7pm.
Mapleton Basketball
The Mapleton Sailors will be on the road against Eddyville Charter. The boys will start first beginning at 5:30 the girls will be up at 7:00 the boys and girls have started their league season undefeated.
Viking Wrestling
Viking wrestling will be part of the Special District 2 duals this afternoon at Creswell. Cottage Grove, Cresswell and Siuslaw will participate.
