6 Game Win Streak For Ems

The Eugene Emeralds pulled off a thrilling 4-3 walk-off win in 10 innings over the Spokane Indians. Down 3-0 entering the 8th, the Ems tied it up with clutch hits from Luke Shliger, Jonah Cox, and Damian Bravo. Charlie Szykowny, who scored the tying run in the 9th, delivered the game-winning single in the 10th. Starter Charlie McDaniel pitched a career-high 6.2 innings, and Ryan Vanderhei closed it out with two shutout frames. The Emeralds are now 30-9 in the second half and riding a six-game win streak.

Preseason Ducks

Oregon running backs Makhi Hughes and Noah Whittington have been named to the preseason watch list for the Doak Walker Award, which honors the nation’s top college running back. Oregon is one of just 25 FBS teams—and six in the Big Ten—with multiple backs on the list. Hughes is also on the Maxwell and Walter Camp Player of the Year watch lists, while Whittington is a Paul Hornung Award candidate. The Ducks are in fall camp preparing for their season opener against Montana State on August 30th at Autzen Stadium.
