Lade Takes State in Wrestling

Siuslaw senior Macali Lade secured the 120-pound title at the OSAA state wrestling championships in Portland on Friday, pinning Oakridge freshman Victoria Keller in 3 minutes, 31 seconds. A former state champion as a sophomore, Lade capped her high school career with an impressive 45-3 record.

Siuslaw’s strong showing also included junior Danin Lacouture, who finished third at 135 pounds, and senior Abby Riggs, who placed fourth at 115.

For the boys junior Jacob Mann came in second place in the 215 pound weight class behind Joe Weil of Burns.  Senior Leo Robertson place third.

College Basketball

The Oregon Ducks are on a 5 game win streak after defeating USC on Saturday 82-61. Keshawn Barthelemy led the Ducks with 20 and Jackson Shelstad added 19.  The Oregon State Beavers on Saturday lost to St. Mary’s 74-64 ending their regular season.  They will wait for the winner of Portland and Pepperdine for a game on Saturday.
