Track and Field

Siuslaw’s depth powered the Vikings to top finishes at Saturday’s Marist Track Classic in Eugene. The boys took first place, led by two individual champions, while the girls finished second with one event winner. Reedsport transfer Clayton Wilson set a new school record in the 3,000 meters, winning in 8:28.89. Junior Will Johnson claimed the triple jump title and added three runner-up finishes. Senior Raymundo Brito Xilot, freshman Bentley Nelson, junior Max Reynold, and sophomore Caleb Gray all secured second-place finishes in their events. On the girls’ side, junior Danin Lacouture won the shot put, and sophomore Adell Cadet took second in three events.

College Baseball

The Oregon Ducks baseball team extended their win streak to seven with a 5-3 victory over Washington on Senior Day at PK Park. Starter Jason Reitz tossed six shutout innings, and Chase Meggers sealed the win by throwing out a runner at second. The Ducks now head into their final series against Iowa still in the Big Ten title race.

Oregon State and Iowa ended their series finale in a 6-6 tie after 10 innings Sunday due to OSU’s travel curfew. The Beavers rallied from an early 3-0 deficit, highlighted by a Wilson Weber grand slam. OSU had already clinched the series with wins Friday and Saturday.

Siuslaw Golf

Special District 2 Championships are going on today and tomorrow.  for the boys team, they are in Corvallis and the girls are right here at home.  Ryan Klampe leads the team for the boys and Macali Lade for the girls.
