More on City’s Budget
The Florence City Council has adopted the City’s 2025–27 biennial budget, totaling just over $77.1 million. The new budget, effective July 1st, was built around City Council goals and the 2025–27 Work Plan and includes major funding for infrastructure and essential city services. Key allocations include nearly $22 million for the General Fund, over $14.5 million for the Wastewater Fund, $9.1 million for water services, and $5.6 million for city streets. Additional funds support public works, stormwater improvements, debt service, and operations at the Florence Events Center. City Manager Erin Reynolds says the budget reflects a continued commitment to delivering valued services while supporting a high quality of life for residents. The adopted plan represents a modest 0.35% increase from the previous biennium.
Oregon Community Foundation Grant Cycle
The Oregon Community Foundation will open applications for its 2025 Fall Cycle of Community Grants from June 16 through July 11. This round of funding focuses on new or expanding programs, capacity building, and small capital projects under $500,000. Nonprofits can access key dates, funding priorities, and sample answers on the Community Grants webpage. Siuslaw Awards
The 2025 Siuslaw Awards are set for Thursday, June 13th at the Florence Events Center, recognizing local businesses, nonprofits, and individuals for their impact on the Florence community. Nominees include Burch’s Roofing, Florence Shipping Solutions, and Lofy Construction for Business of the Year, while organizations like the Oregon Coast Humane Society and C.R.O.W. are up for Innovation and Community Impact awards. The evening will feature a taco bar, DJ, and a nod to the 1980s theme, with guests encouraged to dress accordingly. Tickets are $45.
