Viking Wrestlers Honored
Three Siuslaw Viking wrestlers have been named to the Oregon School Activities Association’s first-ever All-State wrestling teams. Senior Danin Lacouture earned second team honors for the girls after finishing as the state runner-up at 140 pounds. Senior Jacob Mann was named second team for the boys following his runner-up finish at 215. Senior Gage Mills received honorable mention after placing fifth in the state at 190 pounds.
Beaver Basketball
The Oregon State Beavers won their first round game in the WCC tournament last night against San Francisco. The Beavers went up by 7 with just a minute to play and held on for a 78-77 victory. They will face Gonzaga at 6pm this evening with a 5:30 pregame on KCFM.
Duck Basketball
The Oregon Ducks finished off the regular season with a win against Washington 85-79 they face Maryland tomorrow in the Big10 tournament. game time will be a 1:30 on KCST
College Baseball
Duck baseball took 2 of three from Purdue over the weekend with a 15-4 win clinching the series on Sunday. The Beaver’s win streak improved to 5 after a 4 game series against Xavier. The Beavers tortured their opponent yesterday with a 17-2 victory with back to back 6 run innings in the 5th and 6th.
Lady Beavers
The Beaver women finished off Portland on Sunday in hoops winning 60-50. They now face a rematch with Loyola Marymount who defeated them in February 71-69. The game will be at noon today.
