Natalie Place third this past weekend in the 1500 meter while coming within 4 seconds of the Mapleton High School Record. posting a 5:04.4. Natalie is a 3 sport athlete for Mapleton
Honorable Mention
Honorable Mention goes to senior Siuslaw Track and Field’s Tom Morgan who holds the top 10 all-time marks in the 100 and 200. He was also leading 3A in both events.
Siuslaw Golf
Siuslaw sophomore Mason Wright earned medalist honors Monday, shooting a 4-over 76 at a Special District 2 match in Creswell. Wright’s performance helped the Vikings finish third as a team. Pleasant Hill took first, followed by Santiam Christian. Wright recorded 10 pars and two birdies on the day. Siuslaw returns to action with the girl’s team competing Wednesday in Cottage Grove.
OSU Cruises in 7
Oregon State cruised to an 18-0 win over Washington State in seven innings Monday. Bryson Glassco highlighted a nine-run third inning with a grand slam, helping the Beavers take control early. Oregon State finished with 11 hits, while Josh Proctor added a home run and three hits on the day. The win improves the Beavers as they continue their strong season.
