Baseball Split
Siuslaw split a Far West League doubleheader with first-place Douglas Friday at Jiggs Dodson Stadium. The Vikings dropped a close opener, 11-10 in extra innings, but bounced back in the nightcap with a 10-3 win behind a complete-game effort from senior Jacob Mann. He struck out 7 and allowed just 2 hits. Siuslaw is now 8-8 overall and hosts Sutherlin Tuesday.
Track and Field Dominates
Siuslaw track and field teams dominated the 12-school Central Coast Invitational Friday at Hans Petersen Field, with both the boys and girls taking first place. Junior Aidell Cadet led the way, winning four individual events, including the 100 and 300 hurdles, high jump, and triple jump. Senior Danin Lacouture and teammates Thomas Morgan, Henry Stone, and Will Johnson each added two wins. The Lady Vikings scored 175 points, while the boys totaled 186. The meet also featured several personal and season-best performances across both squads.
College Baseball
The Oregon Ducks have won 5 in a row now with a series victory over Penn State this past weekend. Friday and Saturday winning 5-4 and a 5 zip shut out yesterday. the Oregon State Beavers won their series against Hawaii 12=4 Friday, 8-1 Saturday and 3-1 yesterday.
