Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Siuslaw junior Aidell Cadet as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Aidell racked up the points for Siuslaw taking 4 events at last Friday’s Central Coast Invitational. Winning the 100 meter hurdles with a personal best 15.99, followed by the 300 meter hurdles, clearing the high jump at 4’10” and taking the Triple jump at 36’2.25”.
Honorable mention goes to senior Jacob Mann who pitched a 2 hit complete game on Friday while also competing in the Central Coast invitational taking a second place spot of both the shot put and discus.
Siuslaw Golf
Siuslaw’s Micah Blankenship shot an 85, finishing with a birdie on 18 to lead the Vikings boys golf team at a district match in Keizer. Mason Wright added a 92 and Camden Linton a 96 as Siuslaw tied for seventh place with a team score of 382. Pleasant Hill took top honors with a 338. The Lady Vikings are on the course today at Tokatee Golf Club in McKenzie Bridge. The boys return to action May 7th at Salishan.
College Baseball
The Oregon State Beavers will be on the mound today hosting UT Rio Grande Valley at 5:30. The Oregon Ducks host Gonzaga today at 2pm.
Siuslaw Baseball/Softball
The Siuslaw viking baseball and softball teams will be on the mound this afternoon. They will host Sutherlin. Baseball will be on the air beginning at 4:15
