Athlete of the Week
The Sports Club and Coast Radio Sports congratulate Viking senior Track and Field’s Tom Morgan as this week’s athlete of the week. Tom scored 2 victories at last week’s Junction City Invitational winning the 200 meters in 22.53 seconds and topped it off with a personal best winning the 400 Meter in 51.01.
Honorable Mention goes to Siuslaw senior Zak Nilles who pitched a no-hitter during the first game of the double header against coquille. striking out 11 and allowing only 2 batters on base in a 5 and a half inning game.
Baseball/Softball
The Siuslaw Viking Baseball and Softball teams will be headed to Glide this afternoon to face single games against the Wildcats. Viking Baseball is in need of a win if it has a hope to be in the post season. game time on KCST will be at 4:15
OSU Baseball
Oregon State will be at home this evening for a game against Portland and then finish up the regular season this weekend at home against Air Force. The Ducks have their final three games at home against USC beginning this Thursday.
Siuslaw Golf
Siuslaw’s Mason Wright shot a 7‑over‑par 78 Monday at Salishan Golf Links and sits 4th overall after the first round of the Special District championships. The Vikings are 8th as a team at 376. The Lady Vikings are 6th after 18 holes, led by Jozalyn Hulet at 103.
