Viking Baseball
The Siuslaw Vikings’ baseball playoff hopes are fading after Glide rallied for seven runs in the fifth inning Tuesday to beat the Vikings 7-3 in Far West League play. Siuslaw can no longer earn one of the league’s two automatic state playoff berths, trailing second-place Douglas by 3 games with 2 left. The Vikings are also a longshot for one of 5 at-large spots. Freshman Cam Lyda went 2-for-2. Senior Jacob Mann was 1-for-2 with 2 runs and a steal. Siuslaw hosts Glide in a doubleheader Friday at Jiggs Dodson Field. Friday is Senior night honoring Jacob Mann, Zak Nilles, Micah Blankenship, Jordan Pitcher, Jordan Wheeler, Colin Barnett and Max Ceska.
