Track and Field Championships
Siuslaw Athletes are gearing up for State competition tomorrow and Friday. 3A state championships will be held at Hayward Field. competition begins at 10 am tomorrow with field events up first. The High Jump and Pole Vault will be first. track events start with the 3000 meter race at 12:30. Day 2 competition will start at 9am on Friday morning. Several Siuslaw athletes are hopeful for state titles after winning district recognition last week including Aidell Cadet for the girls and Will Johnson for the boys.
Mapleton standout Natalie Stevens hopes to grab a state title in 1A competition in the 3000, 1500 and 400 meter races.
Ems Series With Vancouver
The Eugene Emeralds are in Vancouver for a 6 game series. game one went to Vancouver last night 3-0. the Ems hope to bound back tonight. the Ems lead the Northwest league by 10 games with Tri-city the closest opponent. The Ems are 34-12
