Ducks Advance, Beavers Go Home
Oregon’s postseason run continues after the Ducks defeated Oregon State 4-1 Sunday night at PK Park to win the Eugene Regional and advance to the NCAA Super Regional. Oregon State’s lone run came in the second inning on an RBI single by Easton Talt, who finished 3-for-5. The game was tied 1-1 until the seventh when the Ducks loaded the bases and capitalized on back-to-back walks and an RBI fielder’s choice to score three runs. Beaver starter Wyatt Queen struck out seven over 4 2/3 innings, while Oregon’s Miles Gosztola earned the win with eight strikeouts in six innings. The Beavers finish the season 45-14, marking the program’s 11th 45-win season and fourth under head coach Mitch Canham. Oregon now advances to face Texas in the Austin Super Regional next weekend.
