Duck Baseball Season Ends
The Oregon Ducks’ season came to an end Sunday as No. 6 Texas rallied for a 6-5 win in the NCAA Austin Super Regional. Oregon erased an early 4-0 deficit and took a 5-4 lead in the seventh inning, but the Longhorns answered with two runs in the eighth to clinch the series and advance to the College World Series. The 11th-ranked Ducks finish the season 43-18, falling one win short of their first College World Series appearance since 1954.

This evening at Siuslaw High School the Sports Club and Coast Radio sports will reveal the Athlete of the Year for both the boys and the girls. the boy’s award features 6 candidates from Siuslaw High School, Micah Blankenship, Will Johnson, Jacob Mann, Henry Stone, Jericho Lake, and Thomas Morgan. for the girls there are 4 Siuslaw and 2 Mapleton athletes. for the Girls, Danin Lacouture, Aidell Cadet, Maely Chiang, and Sophia Stymans. And Mapleton’s Natalee Stevens and Lucie Burruss. There will be a special invitation awards ceremony this evening at Siuslaw High School. Tonight at 5:30
Ems Win Final 2 in Series
The Emeralds defeated the Everett AquaSox for the second straight night, this time by a final score of 3-2. The Ems dropped the first four games of the series before taking both weekend games against the Frogs. Eugene is now 39-18 in the first half as the magic number is down to just one. The Ems will have a chance to clinch the first half title Tuesday night against the Spokane Indians. A win from the Ems or a loss from the Dust Devils would clinch it for Eugene.
