Ems Drop First Game in Series
The Eugene Emeralds dropped the opener of their series with Spokane Tuesday night, falling 12-4 at PK Park. The game was tied through four innings before the Indians scored 9 unanswered runs on the way to their 10th straight win. Jhonny Level, Jancel Villarroel and Lisbel Diaz each homered for Eugene, which falls to 7-9 in the second half.
Duck Softball Coach Elevated
Oregon softball head coach Melyssa Lombardi has promoted Sydney Romero to associate head coach. Romero has spent the past three seasons on the Ducks’ staff, helping Oregon earn back-to-back NCAA Regional hosting opportunities and a trip to the Women’s College World Series in 2025. Before joining Oregon, Romero won two national championships as a graduate assistant at Oklahoma and also coached at Duke. She continues to play professionally with Athletes Unlimited.
