Bittle Gets First Shot in NBA
Oregon center Nate Bittle is getting his first shot at the NBA after signing with the Toronto Raptors. The Central Point native wrapped up a standout five-year career with the Ducks, averaging nearly 17 points and seven rebounds last season while earning Third Team All-Big Ten and All-Defensive honors. Bittle will suit up for the Raptors in NBA Summer League, which begins Friday in Las Vegas.
Emeralds on Break
The Eugene Emeralds are on the Northwest League All-Star break and won’t return to action until Friday, when they’ll open a three-game home series against the Hillsboro Hops. Hillsboro enters the weekend at the bottom of the Northwest League standings, while the Emeralds sit at 10-and-11, four games behind the first-place Spokane Indians in the second-half standings.
