Running Underway
Six Siuslaw runners are wrapping up training at the Steens Mountain Running Camp. Junior Henry Stone posted the Vikings’ fastest uphill 5K time, finishing 13th out of 116 runners in 23 minutes, 8 seconds. Freshman Hosanna Stone led the Lady Vikings, placing 42nd. Coach Chris Johnson says both camp sessions remained safe despite nearby wildfire activity.
Ems Take Series
The Eugene Emeralds closed out their series in Everett with a dominant 17-3 win over the AquaSox on Sunday. Zander Darby led the offensive explosion with a three-run homer and four RBIs, while Jose Astudillo collected four hits. The victory gives Eugene its second straight series win and first six-game series victory since May. The Ems return home Tuesday to host Tri-City at PK Park.
