Smoke Cancels Series Finale
Last Night’s game between the Eugene Emeralds and Spokane Indians was been canceled due to poor air quality in Spokane. The two teams do not meet again during the regular season, and no makeup date has been announced. Eugene now heads to Hillsboro for a three-game series before returning home Friday, August 14th, for nine games at PK Park against the Hops. The Emeralds lead the Northwest League by one-and-a-half games over Vancouver.
Lade Tagged as New Middle School AD
Siuslaw Middle School has named Megan Lade as its new athletic director. Lade, a physical education and health teacher at the middle school, takes over for Jeromy Graybill, who recently accepted a position at Junction City High School. Lade brings more than 14 years of coaching experience and has worked with youth soccer, track and field, wrestling, and other local athletic programs. She says her focus will be supporting student-athletes, strengthening ties with families and community partners, and preparing for a busy fall sports season. Registration for fall athletics is now open.
