Southwest Oregon Regional Airport is asking the public to weigh in on its future. The Coos County Airport District will hold an Airport Master Plan Community Meeting and Open House Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the airport terminal in North Bend. Consultants will discuss future facility needs and possible development options, followed by an opportunity for the public to ask questions and provide input. The Master Plan will guide development at the airport over the next 10 years and beyond.

Missing Picker Found

A mushroom-picking trip near Cape Creek prompted a search and rescue effort after a man and the woman looking for him both became overdue. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office says the man was dropped off September 10th and failed to return. Search crews found him and his puppy unharmed the following afternoon, but the woman had gone back out searching for him. Crews continued the search and located her by drone about an hour later, also unharmed. The Sheriff’s Office reminds people reporting a missing person to remain reachable and avoid putting themselves at risk while searching.
