Lane County Surplus Sale
Lane County is preparing for its annual surplus vehicle auction later this month. Fleet Services will hold the public online auction September 24th through the 26th, featuring more than 60 vehicles and pieces of equipment, including cars, trucks, SUVs, buses, trailers, and heavy equipment. Bidding must be submitted online through noon on Saturday, September 26th. Prospective buyers can preview items online or view them in person at Lane County Fleet Services on North Delta Highway in Eugene during auction hours. Proceeds help fund replacement vehicles for public agencies.
Goodwill Support Drive
Goodwill Industries’ Florence store is helping support local survivors of domestic violence and abuse through a weeklong fundraising campaign. Beginning September 20th through September 26th, customers can donate cash or round up their purchase to the nearest dollar at checkout, with all proceeds benefiting Hope & Safety Alliance. The nonprofit, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year, provides services for survivors and their families. Goodwill officials say the partnership allows customers and donors to help support safety, healing, and empowerment efforts in the Florence community and across the region.
United Way -Imagination Library
United Way of Lane County has launched the new Imagination Library of Lane County, expanding access to Dolly Parton’s free book-gifting program for families across Eugene, Springfield and 25 rural communities. The program sends a free age-appropriate book each month to children from birth until age five. Families in Florence, Mapleton and Deadwood are among those eligible to participate, with books available in English, bilingual English-Spanish, and braille and audio formats. More than 8,000 Lane County children currently receive books each month through the program.
