Soccer and Volleyball Take Defeats

The Viking boys’ soccer team has been fighting all season with a limited roster.  They faced a Brookings Harbor team yesterday and spent most of the first half defending their goal.  While coach Tomaro said there was some play on the opposite end they were basically outnumbered in the match.  The Vikings suffered an 8-0 defeat that ended at halftime. The Lady Vikings lost to Brookings-Harbor 7-1.

The Siuslaw Vikings volleyball team fell in straight sets at Brookings-Harbor Tuesday, 25-19, 25-15 and 25-18. Coach McKenzie Perry says unforced errors, particularly in the front row, hurt the Vikings throughout the match. Stella Duman led Siuslaw with seven kills, while Chloe Clark and Charley Johnson each had nine digs. The Vikings are now 2-and-8 overall and travel to Sutherlin Thursday.

Mapleton Volleyball defeated Eddyville charter in 4 sets last night.
