Tighter fire restrictions will take effect beginning tomorrow in many areas of western Oregon and the Coast Range. Stringent measures, called a “regulated use closure” are already in effect in portions of southern and southwestern Oregon. Smoking is prohibited while traveling, except inside vehicles on improved roads. Open fires are prohibited, including campfires, except at designated locations and the use of motorized equipment such as chainsaws is prohibited.
