On the Cross Country course yesterday six of the first eight runners across the line in the North Bend Invitational at Tugman State Park in Lakeside wore the Blue and Gold, as the Siuslaw Viking Boys easily outdistanced the competition. Mitchell Butler was first with a time of 15:59.48. Mathew Campbell was 2nd, Hayden Schaffner 4th, Mack Marbas 5th, Seth Campbell 7th and Brian Schofield eighth.
On the girls side of things Marshfield claimed the team title, but the Vikings earned second, paced by Katie Potter’s individual victory in 19:44.72. Katelyn Wells and Courtney King were 11th and 12th respectively.

On the prep volleyball court… In Mountain West League play the Mapleton Sailors swept Eddyville in three games at home. In nonleague play in Florence, the Siuslaw Vikings fell to the Tillamook Cheesemakers in four games. Katie Catalfamo had 16 kills, Lona Dengler 24 assists.
