Viking Basketball Wins Tiebreaker
Three Vikings scored in double digits last night as Siuslaw came out on top over the Douglas Trojans in a Far West League Girls Basketball tie-breaker in North Bend. Nikki Parry had 20 points, Alex Dodson 12; and Katie Thrall 11 in the win that gives the Lady Vikings third place in the league standings. Siuslaw will now take on the Mazama Vikings Friday night at six in Klamath Falls in regional ‘play-in’ action. The Trojans will also be in Klamath Falls that evening. They’ll face the Henley Hornets.
Four Sailors Earn Mountain West Recognition
All League honors were handed out earlier this week for boys and girls Mountain West League basketball. Four Mapleton Sailors, all girls, were singled out. Liz Harry was named to the league’s first team. Abbie Webb, Chelsea Simington and Erin Wolford each received Honorable Mention.
