Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports…

The Three Rivers Sandblasters split with the Corvallis Marketmen yesterday.  Losing the opener of a Zone-3 double header 5-1.  Corvallis pitcher Garrett Miller held the ‘Blasters to only four hits to earn the win.

Things turned around in the nightcap.  Mike Bennett picked up a 6-2 win for the Sandblasters.  Jake Thompson was three-of-four at the plate.

Three Rivers will be back on the diamond for two games in Stayton tomorrow afternoon against the Canyon Crushers.  The first pitch of game one is set for 3:00… airtime on Coast Radio Sports will be at 2:45.

The Eugene Emeralds trailed by one run going into the top of the ninth inning last night in Spokane, manufacturing one run to force an extra inning. They then put up two runs in the top of the tenth for a 4-2 Northwest League victory over the Indians.  That gave the Emeralds only their second three-game win streak of the season and moves them into a tie with Vancouver, at 15-11, for second place in the West Division… but still 4 ½ games behind Everett.  The loss for the Indians drops them to 9-and-18, in last place in the East division.  Spokane and Eugene meet again tonight and will continue their five game series through Sunday.
