WOODBURN, Ore. (AP) – Woodburn police have arrested a priest accused of sexually abusing a minor. The 46-year-old Perez is the priest at St. Luke Catholic Church in Woodburn.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Benton County sheriff’s sergeant wounded in an exchange of gunfire remains in serious condition at a Corvallis hospital. The authorities say Sgt. David Peterson was shot late Saturday while searching for a suspect who fled after crashing a car. Police say the suspect -32-year-old Demecio Cardenas of Los Angeles – exchanged gunfire with officers after emerging from heavy brush. Peterson, Cardenas and a Salem police officer were wounded.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a Portland man last seen alive on Thursday has been found dead in the Mount Hood National Forest. A spokesman for the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office told The Oregonian that investigators do not suspect foul play in the death of 42-year-old James Lund. He had told relatives last week that he was going for a drive.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The National Labor Relations Board says union electricians – not longshoremen – are entitled to perform the job of plugging and unplugging refrigerated shipping containers at the Port of Portland. A clash over which union should have the jobs ignited a workplace slowdown that prompted major shipping lines to temporarily divert ships to other ports.
