LOS ANGELES (AP) – Gary Bell Jr. scored 15 points, including five of Gonzaga’s season-high 13 3-pointers, and the seventh-ranked Zags routed Loyola Marymount 88-43 last night for their sixth straight win over the Lions. Kelly Olynyk added 15 points, and Sam Dower and Drew Barham had 13 each for the Zags, ensuring coach Mark Few his 14th consecutive season with at least 20 victories. It was the Zags’ fourth consecutive blowout league victory. They led by 28 points at halftime.

SEATTLE (AP) – Nick Johnson scored 15 points, five in the final 2 minutes, and No. 8 Arizona rallied from an early deficit for an ugly 57-53 victory over Washington last night, snapping a three-game losing streak to the Huskies. Mark Lyons and Solomon Hill both added 10 points for the Wildcats, who won their second straight after losing at home to UCLA. C.J. Wilcox and Scott Suggs both scored 11 points to lead Washington, which has lost four straight for the first time since 2008 and is now 12-9.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) – Minnesota Timberwolves guard Brandon Roy has had a setback with his surgically repaired right knee, casting further doubt on his chances of resuming a career derailed by knee problems. Roy gave an update yesterday on his recovery from arthroscopic surgery in December. He says he was feeling close to trying to play in a game for the first time this season, but felt more pain last Saturday and had to slow things down. Roy says he remains hopeful that he will play this season.

SEATTLE (AP) – Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill has made his first court appearance since he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend. Hill made an initial appearance in King County District Court. He is being held on $150,000 bail and has a second court appearance scheduled for Friday. According to a probable cause statement released during Thursday’s hearing, Hill’s girlfriend told police she was assaulted numerous times for more than five hours Tuesday. The woman told police she was struck 15 to 20 times.

(AP) – Oregon has promoted former Nebraska quarterback Scott Frost to offensive coordinator under new coach Mark Helfrich. The move announced yesterday was expected since Helfrich, the team’s former offensive coordinator, was made the Ducks’ head coach on Jan. 20. Frost will also serve as quarterbacks coach in his new role. The 38-year-old has been Oregon’s wide receivers coach the last four seasons under Chip Kelly, who left the Ducks to become head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles.
