EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Three civilian employees of the Eugene Police Department are under investigation after auditors couldn’t locate 1,100 items that had been held in the property control unit. PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 28-year-old man who demanded a stranger’s headphones at a Portland light rail station, then fired three rounds from a handgun, has been sentenced to nearly 10 years in prison. The Oregonian reports that one of Blake Humphers’ bullets hit him in the leg. No one else was hurt in the Sept. 13 incident that was caught on TriMet video.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – The Jackson County Board of Commissioners passed an ordinance yesterday requiring veterinarians to report rabies vaccinations. Commissioner Don Skundrick told the Mail Tribune one goal of the move is to increase licensing revenue. If the county finds that a dog on the vaccination list is not licensed, a notice and license application will be sent to the owner.
